I've been thinking about a hc where some Toulon puppets (not the main ones) have their own adventures or something.

I'm particularly thrilled with the idea of ​​Kahn and Drac adopting Little Red and Mephisto.

Ericka: Yes, she was able to keep her identity a secret from every monster on that cruise despite getting close to Drac. Has alot of conman energy and is clearly inspired by murderess and master liar Debbie Jelinsky.

Lucy: Interestngly despite being more brutally honest than her mom, she has the same conman energy. That said, she tends to value honesty unless it's for good reason, like pranks.

Simon: Yes, though he's a bit awkward.

Alice: Oh, definitely. Both versions of her are very good at this.

Audrey: Yes, she kept her ability to talk to Bendy under wraps.

@lovelylivelyv 's Jack Nephalem: Less so, like Lucy he's brutally honest.

Ford: Yes, he has a habit of not telling his family about things he should, like Bill

Fidds: Yes, partially because he might forget. While his mind has recovered from his constant Memory gun use, there's still some lingering effects.

Mabel: Of the gravity falls gang, she seems to have the hardest time with subterfuge.

Eclipsa: Possibly, she's kept a number of secrets considering she's wanted for dating a monster and working with dark magic. However, she can also be a bit forgetful and scatterbrained sometimes

Meteora: Oh, definitely. Girl ran a whole princess reform school with high security and was sucking the youth out of her students AND brainwashing them. She's also having lessons with Glossaryk under her family's nose.

Caine: Ehhhh, not sure. He seems a bit bombastic, and while he did try he wasn't able to keep his "exit" attempts secret. Then again, he referred to the void as "Spoilers" and didn't tell anyone about not getting attached to NPCs because he needed to keep them straight.

Pomni: Mostly emotionally, but she's pretty good at dealing with the stress of her situation once she gets kind of used to it. She hasn't really told anyone about her fear of abstracting and being forgotten or put down as weak.

Bill: He IS a master manipulator despite being as dramatic as Caine is. Although he tends to word his faustian bargains so it's not nessecarily a complete lie (example: Giving Dipper a hint in exchange for giving him a puppet without saying HE was going to be the puppet or that he was going to smash the laptop.) he's very good at hiding his true intentions. He's often played as something of a conman trickster demon.

Shego: She's pretty good with keeping secrets being the villain and criminal she is.

How a comedy/horror film truly made me think

I saw ‘Renfield’ recently.

I loved it. Great horror comedy with delicious performances from a wonderfully over the top Nicolas Cage and a sweetly earnest Nicholas Hoult...but when the film was over I couldn’t help but think how much the ‘toxic relationship’ between Drac and Renfield reminded me of the one between Snoke and Kylo.

Renfield is Drac’s ‘familiar’. In return for superhuman abilities he takes care of him, even saving him from the ‘good guys’. And he does this because despite the ‘gift’ of supernatural power Drac gives him, he’s actually completely under his control. Drac is his master, his puppet, who continues to serve him because Dracula hammers home that he is Renfield’s only friend, that without him he would be a ‘nothing’...

.....and that he has no one else.

This is exactly the type of perverse bond Snoke had with Kylo. He repeatedly told him he wasn’t wanted, that his parents didn’t love him, that Luke would betray him. And when that terrible misunderstanding happened between Ben Solo and his uncle, he thought that Snoke had been right all along. He was a frightened boy fleeing a man he’d worshipped, who he genuinely thought was trying to kill him. And as soon as he was caught in Snoke’s web, he was trapped.

Like Renfield, Ben/Kylo’s master pushed him into doing terrible things. Like Renfield, Kylo was completely under his control. Renfield found friends that helped him break away. Kylo found Rey.

But...Renfield found forgiveness. Ben was fated to die even after he’d redeemed himself. And that is the biggest disappointment...that Ben’s reward for ‘turning good’ was to die. That all a lonely, depressed, brainwashed young man was good for was to donate his life to someone else, someone who didn’t give a toss for him, and was apparently more worthy of him because she was a woman.

A virginal woman.

Ben was ‘tainted’ because he was a victim of abuse. 

No matter how much you try to gloss over it, he was psychologically and physically abused by Snoke. And TROS’s message was: ‘if you are abused, you will always be soiled, and better off dead.’

How ironic Disney...that a comedy/horror film got right what you, once the home of happy ever afters...didn’t.

How does Oleksander "see" others? Does that jerk have a bag of holding? DAD WHY HAVEN'T YOU SHARED THIS SECRET WITH YOUR SON?!? Also. Who is Vasilisk in the grand scheme of things? Minor player or??? I'm so curious about him, it's killing me. And Amaris, is he happy playing his part or is he going to try and escape that life? Or use it to his advantage? (I have so many questions.)

OLEKSANDER IS A MAGE LOL SURPRISE!!! Hahaha, no, he’s not. He does have some really cool magical relics that allow him to… cheat a little bit. Just a little bit. And yes, that DOES include a bag of holding (and those are exceedingly rare so he hasn’t managed to find one for his beloved son; also, he loves to ‘see’ Aleksei’s confusion when he pulls something huge out of his bag). His blindfold is probably enchanted to allow him to ‘see’ where other dragons are even through walls. Maybe objects too. What can I say? He’s a resourceful assh*le. 

Ooohhh. Vasilisk. He’s definitely not a minor character. I guess you could call him a revolutionist of sorts, except that his goals are wholly selfish. He wants to see the Lysistratum Imperium brought down, but he’s alarmingly callous about whatever or whoever gets in his way. He can also be very reckless at times, and doesn’t mind putting others or himself in danger. The soft Skydancer who escaped the same flames that killed his clan was reforged anew into someone very, very dangerous. He’s already infamous in the Underbelly as a gang leader and someone not to cross unless you’d like a dagger in your gut. 

He’s also a powerful mage who has so far managed to avoid capture. The fact that he’s made a deal with a terrifying forest deity/monster might have something to do with it. 

Curiously, Amaris is a member of Vasilisk’s gang. Although it seems to everyone like he has come to terms with and even enjoys the way he lives his life, there is still an ember of rebellion burning within him. Over the years Vasilisk and Amaris struck up a strange friendship born out of respect and necessity and now the Spiral works as Vasilisk’s informant, happy to be given a new purpose in life working against the Lysistratum Imperium. Once a puppet to greedy masters, Amaris has taken a modicum of control over his life and will always been grateful to Vasilisk for the chance… Even if it kills him in the end.

1. Harry Potter (and the philosopher’s stone) (and the chamber of secrets).

An oldie but a goodie, watch Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone and relive the magic where Harry learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own, becoming a student at Hogwarts, an English boarding school for wizards and having to battle some “enemies” along the way.

In the Chamber of Secrets, Harry finds the second year more challenging with flying cars, trees fighting back, duelling clubs  and a fifty year old secret that threatens to destroy Hogwarts.

        2. The Goonies.

Another oldie but a goodie! Join the Goonies on a swashbuckling adventures! Following a mysterious treasure map into a spectacular underground realm of twisting passages, outrageous booby-traps and a long-lost pirate ship full of golden doubloons, the kids race to stay one step ahead of bumbling bad guys… and a mild-mannered monster with a face only a mother could love. A family adventure classic from start to buccaneering finish.

    3. Goosebumps 1 and 2.

Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah, living right next door, and makes a quick friend in Champ. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah’s mysterious dad is in fact R.L. Stine, the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series.         4. Coraline.

    5. Hotel Transylvania 1, 2 and 3.

The Hotel Transylvania, run by Dracula, is a unique, high-end resort catering only to the finest monsters and their families. But the dream vacation turns into a nightmare when Mavis realizes Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka, who hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monster kind.

    6. The Witches.

Adapted from Roald Dahl’s novel, Nine-year-old Luke finds that saving the world from witches is a tall order for a boy who has been turned into a mouse. A film that goes to show that heroes come in all shapes, sizes and species.

      7. Monsters (Inc and University).

Mike Wazowski and James “Sulley”  P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

    8. Boxtrolls.

The town’s villain, Archibald Snatcher, comes up with a plot to get rid of the Boxtrolls, so Eggs decides to venture above ground, ‘into the light,’ where he meets and teams up with feisty Winnie. Together, they devise a daring plan to save Eggs’ family.

    9. The house with a clock in its walls.

This magical adventure tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis, who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town’s sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches. Based on the beloved children’s classic book.

      10. Labyrinth.

When young Sarah cavalierly wishes that goblins would take her crying baby brother away, she gets her wish.
